Sri Sathya Sai Baba
Sri Sathya Sai Baba is adored and followed by millions of His devotees and disciples, around the world.
A spiritual master who lived as a paragon of love apropos to the divine nature, beyond the comprehension of one’s logical mind, and superior to the experience of one’s senses, Baba was born on November 23, 1926 at Puttaparthi, a small, pastoral village in South Indian State of Andhra Pradesh.
His message of ‘Love All-Serve All’ and ‘Help Ever-Hurt Never’ formed the basis for all the philanthropic work in the fields of Healthcare, Education and Nutrition. He showered Prema (love), sought Prema, and established Prema in the heart of the individual, the fabric of society and the complex of nations.
Baba elaborated on the path of love (bhakti), of selfless activity (karma), of mastery over the mind (raja yoga), and of sublimation of Consciousness (jñāna). He propounded about the rights and responsibilities of the individual and society, and revealed that they have the one underlying purpose of spiritual fulfillment.
sathya (truth), dharma (righteousness, code of duties, essential nature of a being or thing), śānti (peace) and ahiṃsā (non-violence) are the Four Pillars of Baba’s simple yet effective teachings on life and spirituality. He reminded everyone that prema (love) was the undercurrent of all the Four Pillars.
His mission of touching and transforming individuals and societies through acts of selfless love and service still lives on.
